FM: Azerbaijan remains committed to supporting peaceful reconstruction, development of Afghanistan

The 9th Ministerial Conference of the Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process provides a good opportunity to assess the important work done as part of the Istanbul Process and to identify future directions for joint efforts to address the serious challenges facing Afghanistan, a region located at the heart of all of Asia, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at the 9th Ministerial Conference of the Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process, which is taking place in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, Report informs.

The minister noted that in this regard, the current conference is considered as a sign of the firm commitment of all participating countries, as well as supporting states and international organizations, to achieve a common goal - to ensure the security and prosperity of Afghanistan, living in peace with its neighbors.

“We remain committed to supporting the stabilization, peaceful reconstruction and development of Afghanistan through bilateral efforts and active participation in multilateral platforms. Based on this, we closely follow the internal peace negotiations in Afghanistan and hope that as a result of this process, sustainable peace and security will be established in the country on the basis of full respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Afghanistan,” the foreign minister said.
