Farid Shafiyev: Yerevan is looking for alternatives such as Paris and Washington

Official Yerevan is looking for alternatives such as Paris and Washington, head of the Center for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) Farid Shafiyev said at a round table in the AIR Center on the occasion of September 27 - Remembrance Day, according to Report.

He emphasized that Russia traditionally supported Armenia:

"Now it has no opportunity to do that. Besides, Armenia is waiting for the results of the presidential elections in Turkiye. But it is unlikely that there will be a change in Turkiye's foreign policy. Armenia is also waiting for the outcome of the Russia-Ukraine war."

Political scientist Fikrat Sadikhov said that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is currently on a visit to France: "Armenia will likely ask for strong support from its protectors. France and the United States cannot participate as serious players in the region because of the active roles of Turkiye and Russia. Ter-Petrosyan, the first president of Armenia, also said a peace treaty should be signed. Apparently, there are people with healthy thoughts in Armenia. But still few."
