Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's visit to Azerbaijan is definitely an important visit for the good relations that are improving in the last several years on many bilateral levels and that are getting concrete in the fields of economy, military cooperation, cooperation in energy sector, Serbian political scientist, researcher at the Institute for European Studies Stevan Gajic told Report.
"I think that the visit should positively influence the future cooperation of two countries. It came shortly after the president Aliyev visit to Belgrad, it is not only the visit full of protocol but serious meeting which are all filled with concrete materialization of the future cooperation in various fields," Gajic said.
Commenting to the energy cooperation between the countries, the expert supposed that it would expand widely both when it comes to electricity and gas supplies that Serbia will get from Azerbaijan in the near future.
Serbia is very much interested in energy supplies of all kinds from Azerbaijan but primary in gas, he said.
"Gas is supposed to come from interconnector that Serbia was building with Bulgaria which is supposed to supply electricity several EU countries including Serbia with the electric energy from Azerbaijan," he added.
The expert noted that Azerbaijan is famous for its respect for international law, which is manifested in respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.
