The results of the meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation with the Lachin road can be called a diplomatic and political victory for Azerbaijan, Director General of the Caspian Institute for Strategic Studies (Russia) Igor Korotchenko told Report's Russian bureau.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia actually fizzled out. The arguments of the Azerbaijani side were taken into account. The permanent representative of Azerbaijan at the UN worked very professionally and presented very clear arguments," said the expert.
Korotchenko noted that most of the countries participating in the discussions were in favor of political dialogue:
"For the majority of countries, it is clear that the Agdam-Khankandi road is the most successful and satisfactory option for the provision of humanitarian goods to the Garabagh region."
