Expert slams European Parliament's anti-Azerbaijan resolution as prejudiced

The anti-Azerbaijan resolution adopted by the European Parliament on October 24, 2024, is blatantly biased, according to Russian expert Alexander Razuvayev.

Razuvayev told Report that European deputies are clearly displeased with the independent policy of Azerbaijan's leadership.

"This resolution demonstrates Europe's traditional Turkophobia and Islamophobia," Razuvayev noted. "It is evident that the resolution, based on false narratives from France, Armenia, and the Armenian lobby, is prejudiced and incites hatred. It is not entirely clear what business the European Union has with the South Caucasus."

The expert also pointed out the likelihood of corrupt factors influencing the adoption of such resolutions in the European Parliament. "Perhaps there is corruption involved, and the Armenian lobby simply went too far. From this European Parliament resolution, one can conclude that Europe strongly dislikes the independent policy pursued by the leadership of Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev personally. There is nothing surprising about this, and I think it should simply be ignored," he said.

The expert believes that Azerbaijan is a strong and successful country that will continue its independent foreign policy and adhere to its traditions and cultural values, "rooted in the heritage of ancestors and the main religions - Islam and Orthodoxy."
