For Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan is the gateway to the South Caucasus and further to the Black Sea, Askar Nursha, Advisor to the Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies, told Report, commenting on the visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Azerbaijan,
He noted that, in turn, Kazakhstan may be attractive for Azerbaijan as one of the leading countries in Central Asia, the region of which is a potential market for Azerbaijan's goods, as well as access to the Chinese market.
According to the expert, the countries have great prospects for cooperation, and the visit of President Tokayev to Azerbaijan shows that Kazakhstan has both interest and readiness for its development.
Nursha said the signed "Declaration on strengthening strategic relations and deepening allied interaction between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Azerbaijan" confirms that the document on strategic partnership of 2005 is still relevant and it will be about deepening strategic and allied relations.
The expert also noted that, in general, relations between countries have always developed in the spirit of cooperation and mutual respect.
"Our countries have always been interested in the development of economic relations as well. For 30 years now, the relations between us have developed steadily and dynamically. All signed agreements include multifaceted and comprehensive cooperation," Askar Nursha said.
