Expert: Azerbaijan and India have significant potential for developing co-op

Azerbaijan and India have great potential for developing cooperation in many areas, including tourism, Indian strategic expert and assistant professor at Allahabad University Uday Pratap Singh told Report.

Both countries are very rich in stunning natural surroundings, rich cultural histories, and historical sites, he noted.

Improved collaboration in the tourist sector, like streamlining visa applications and encouraging cross-cultural interactions, can encourage a steady stream of visitors between the two nations, the expert said.

“Working together in the tourism industry can open up new doors for economic expansion and cross-cultural interaction that will benefit India and Azerbaijan. This will be a win-win situation for both of the countries.”

The recent visit of Indian Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel to Azerbaijan signaled a breakthrough in the two countries’ ties, the expert added.

“It denotes a shared commitment to fortifying relations, particularly in domains like energy collaboration, commerce and cultural exchange. By strengthening economic and energy cooperation, these conversations may serve as a catalyst for deeper strategic ties - possibly through the formation of new alliances or agreements.”
