The 10th Global Baku Forum is a platform where topical issues are discussed, ex-Minister of Defense of Montenegro Milica Pejanović-Đurišić told journalists, according to Report.
She said she is glad that one of the sessions is devoted to the topic of the Western Balkans.
This is an important topic, as there are many challenges in this region, the former defense minister of Montenegro said.
She added that they talked about the European integration of the countries of the region, noting that this issue has a geopolitical and geostrategic aspect.
Montenegro, which became a NATO member in 2017, has been the target of disinformation campaigns, noted she, adding that Russia, for some reason, argued that it should become the main player in the Balkan region. However, the people of Montenegro did not agree with this, she said, noting that Montenegro chose its own path of becoming part of the western democracy.
According to the former Montenegrin minister, this policy of Russia is terrible because it slows down the process of European integration.
