EU hails Azerbaijan's decision to return 8 servicemen to Armenia

EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar has welcomed Azerbaijan's decision to return eight Armenian servicemen to Armenia, Report informs.

"Welcome the release of the Armenian detainees by Azerbaijan. An important humanitarian gesture following the quadrilateral meeting last Friday between the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the President of France Emmanuel Macron and the President of the European Council Charles Michel," Toivo Klaar tweeted.

Guided by the principle of humanism, Azerbaijan returned eight Armenian servicemen to Armenia on February 7, 2022. Some of them are service members detained on November 16, 2021, while preventing the provocation committed by the Armenian Armed Forces on the border with Azerbaijan's Kalbajar district.
