Erdogan expresses gratitude to President of Azerbaijan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, according to Report's correspondent dispatched to Kahramanmaras.

"I spoke on the phone with my brother Ilham Aliyev. Just as we were next to our brothers in the Karabakh war, so my brother Ilham with his entire team is next to us in this disaster. Personally, on my behalf, I thank the whole team headed by Ilham Aliyev," Erdogan stressed.

"I am very grateful to my Azerbaijani brothers," the Turkish leader said.

A magnitude 7.7 earthquake hit Turkiye on February 6 affecting 10 Turkish provinces, which are home to 13.5 million people.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared a state of emergency in these provinces, and a 7-day mourning in the country in memory of the victims.
