Envoy: Restoring cultural heritage of Karabakh - important element in region’s development

The restoration and protection of cultural heritage is one of the most important elements for the further development of this region, strengthening peace and stability, Hungarian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Viktor Szederkenyi told Report.

The international conference “Advancing Post-Conflict Humanitarian Agenda: Sustainable development through revitalization of cultural environment” continues its work in Shusha. According to the ambassador, this event is of great importance in terms of the restoration of cultural monuments in the post-conflict period.

He noted that Hungary is ready to support Azerbaijan in the issue of restoring the liberated territories. “Hungary has already held a number of business forums with Azerbaijan in the field of construction, green industry, energy. Our companies have already met with Azerbaijani partners and discussions are already underway,” he added.

According to the diplomat, Hungary is ready to support Azerbaijan in the issue of mine clearance: “Clearing the territories from mines is a priority for Azerbaijan. This is done so that people can return there. At one time we provided financial assistance to ANAMA, and of course we support this process on an international basis as well.”
