Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov has left for a working visit to Lima, the capital of Peru. Report informs citing the press service of the ministry of foreign affairs that the visit is taking place at the invitation of the Peruvian Foreign Minister Néstor Popolizio Bardales.
During the visit, Mammadyarov will take part in the 14th summit of presidents and representatives of the observer countries of the Pacific Alliance (Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile), which will be held on July 5-6 in Lima.
As part of the summit, it is planned to organize a working table for the observer countries of the organization and discuss opportunities for bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the field of transport, innovation, high technology, culture, tourism, education, medicine, the environment, etc., as well as the possibility of strengthening the trade relations between member countries and countries with an observer status.
Along with the observer countries, representatives of such authoritative organizations as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the European Union, the OSCE, the Eurasian Economic Cooperation Organization are expected to attend the summit of the Pacific Alliance.
