The Zangazur corridor can be considered as an important confidence-building measure in the South Caucasus region, the President of Azerbaijan, Elchin Amirbayov, said at a panel discussion titled "OTS: A Unique Model of Cooperation," held within the framework of the IV Antalya Diplomatic Forum. Amirbayov also emphasized that this corridor is one of the elements of the ongoing process of normalization of relations between official Baku and Yerevan.
"Beyond its purely commercial significance, I think the Zangazur corridor can also be viewed as an important confidence-building measure in the region, as it is also one of the elements of the ongoing process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Thus, for Armenia, which today is in complete economic isolation, this is a good chance to become part of the region, as well as help increase its strategic importance," noted the representative of the President of Azerbaijan.
