Dragana Kojic: ICRC never carries weapons

The ICRC never carries ammunition anywhere, these claims are not true, Dragana Kojic, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in Azerbaijan, said at a round table on "Protection of persons with disabilities and landmine victims in Azerbaijan," Report informs.

According to him, ICRC assistance is distributed globally and usually goes to places where conflicts are raging: "As the Red Cross, we focus on humanitarian impact. We do not participate in political discussions and debates. The ICRC has always criticized the use of landmines. The have a very tragic effect on people and communities, so we are always campaigning against them. We also support Azerbaijan. We understand that the state needs a lot of support considering the scope of the demining work. However, we provide support if there are gaps."
