Ding Tao: Chinese gov't exploring possibilities for facilitating entry of Azerbaijani citizens

The Chinese government is studying measures to simplify the entry of Azerbaijani citizens into the country, Ding Tao, China's charge d'affaires in Azerbaijan, said at a press conference on the results of the SCO Heads of State Council Meeting, Report informs.

“Recently, the president of Azerbaijan decided to unilaterally introduce a visa-free regime for Chinese citizens for a period of one year. China will also study appropriate measures to facilitate the entry of Azerbaijani citizens into the country. I am confident that thanks to our joint efforts, residents of our countries will travel more often for tourism purposes and for doing business, as well as for education, these opportunities are becoming more accessible and numerous,” he noted.

As part of the Joint Declaration on the Establishment of a Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People’s Republic of China, adopted on July 3 during the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana, Azerbaijan will introduce a visa-free regime for Chinese citizens for a period of one year.
