Deputy speaker: Azerbaijan signing peace agreement with state of Armenia, not with Pashinyan

Azerbaijan is signing the peace agreement with the state of Armenia, not with Pashinyan, Ziyafat Asgarov, the Deputy Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis, said during today's plenary session of the parliament, Report informs.

Asgarov noted that currently, the term "Nagorno-Karabakh" is being used in the claims raised by Armenia against Azerbaijan in international courts,

"How can a peace agreement be signed in this case? I want to recall once again that it is Armenia's own constitution that prevents the signing of a peace agreement with Azerbaijan. Because Armenia's constitution and Independence Act states that 'Nagorno-Karabakh is the Armenian territory.' If the phrases 'Nagorno-Karabakh is Armenian territory' are not removed from the aforementioned act and constitution, a peace agreement cannot be signed."
