Deputy Minister: Armenians set up mine traps to prevent return of ethnic Azerbaijanis

Over the past few weeks, Azerbaijan has found and continues to find new pieces of evidence that Armenians set up traps in areas to prevent ethnic Azerbaijanis from returning to their homes, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov, said when the delegation of Azerbaijan presented the oral argument of Azerbaijan at the hearing held on the basis of Armenia's preliminary objections in the case "Azerbaijan against Armenia" at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Report informs.

“Mr. Judge, in the seventh and tenth sections of your folder, you will find references to the numerous pieces of evidence that Azerbaijan presented to the court after the liberation of its territories from occupation at the end of 2020 and continues to reveal. Ironically, if any party delayed its third complaint, it was Armenia itself. Last week, Armenia's agent described the country's complaint, without citation, as the culmination of decades of racial discrimination against ethnic Armenians. However, Armenia has never sent a third complaint to Azerbaijan during these decades. Instead, it notified Azerbaijan of its third complaint just one day after the Second Karabakh War. What is interesting is that why did Armenia wait until the Second Karabakh War, until it lost control over the territories of Azerbaijan?” he said.
