On January 1, 2020, Croatia assumes a six-month term of the presidency of the Council of the European Union. Report informs that Croatia will chair the EU Council for the first time in its history. The priorities of the Croatian chairmanship will be Europe, which is developing; Europe that connects; Europe that protects; Europe, which affects. The continuation of the EU enlargement policy is among the priority tasks. During the Croatian chairmanship, a summit of the EU Eastern Partnership initiative in Brussels will be held in June 2020.
