The Organization for Democracy and Economic Development (GUAM) has announced the composition of its observer mission for the upcoming snap parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, the organization’s press service told Report.
According to the press service, GUAM Secretary General Altay Efendiyev has been appointed as the head of the mission.
Additionally, Georgian parliament member David Matikashvili, a member of Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Mikhail Papiyev, and program coordinators from the GUAM’s Secretariat, Teymuraz Kiladze and Sabuhi Tamirov, will observe the elections in Azerbaijan as part of the GUAM mission.
On June 28, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan signed a decree dissolving the 6th convocation Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (Parliament) and scheduling snap parliamentary elections for September 1.
