Community: 'We demand from Armenian gov't to stop destructive steps'

The Western Azerbaijan Community has issued a statement in connection with the anti-Azerbaijani statements by the Armenian prime minister's spokesperson, Report informs.

"The government of Armenia, through the spokesperson for the prime minister of this country, has made another statement demonstrating hypocrisy in matters of human rights and interference in Azerbaijan's internal affairs," reads the statement.

"First of all, we would like to remind that the Armenian government forcibly expelled Azerbaijanis from this country on the basis of ethnic hatred and destroyed their cultural heritage. The Armenian government in every way impedes the realization of the right of these people to return to their homes and ignores the calls of the Western Azerbaijan Community to start a dialogue on this topic.

Against the background of all this, the assertion of the Armenian government that there is some kind of humanitarian problem in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, speculation in the issue of the rights of the Armenians living there and interference in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan is nothing but hypocrisy and territorial claims.

We demand from the government of Armenia to stop destructive steps and call to start a dialogue with the Western Azerbaijan Community on the issue of realizing the right to return."
