Committee of Ministers of Council of Europe praises Azerbaijan’s work on preservation of churches in Karabakh

Azerbaijan’s activity in strengthening religious and intercultural cooperation is an example for everyone, said Peter Szijjarto, Hungarian minister for foreign affairs and trade and Chair of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe during the PACE autumn session, the local bureau of Report informs.

He said that Azerbaijan is implementing great work in the field of preserving religious centers in Karabakh.

Recently, Hungary has signed an agreement with Azerbaijan in the field of culture. Both countries will cooperate in the restoration of churches, he noted, adding that Shusha has been declared Azerbaijan’s cultural center.

Peter Szijjarto said that he highly appreciates the measures taken by Azerbaijan in the field of preserving religious monuments.
