The heads of CIS governments agreed on cooperation in the digital transformation of the transport complex and signed several agreements during the Council meeting on December 12, Report informs.
The meeting agenda included 10 items.
The heads of government exchanged views on current topics of economic cooperation in the CIS and approved a Memorandum on cooperation in digital transformation of the transport complex.
The document aims to expand and deepen cooperation in this area, primarily to create necessary and sufficient conditions for institutional and infrastructural transformations to build digital transport infrastructure.
Additionally, CIS heads of government signed an Agreement on cooperation in developing civil shipbuilding and production of ship components, and an Agreement on training personnel for penitentiary services. The Commonwealth countries also agreed to develop cooperation in studying, using, protecting, and monitoring groundwater. For this purpose, the Council meeting approved a corresponding Program planned until 2030 and an Implementation Action Plan.
The meeting participants also adopted a Priority Action Plan for humanitarian cooperation for 2025-2026.
The document consists of 10 sections including over 200 activities. The plan takes into account the CIS Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight Against Nazism in 2025, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and the Year of Health Protection in 2026.
Furthermore, the meeting addressed issues concerning barriers in mutual trade between CIS member states and financial support for Commonwealth bodies' activities.
