CIS begins forming observer mission to monitor elections in Azerbaijan

The CIS observer mission to monitor the early parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan is in the process of formation, Report informs citing the organization's press service.

"We are in the stage of forming the headquarters," the CIS noted.

The organization emphasized that the head of the observer mission will be appointed in the near future. The head of the mission should be approved by the Council of Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS member states, the press service added.

On June 28, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an order to dissolve the Milli Majlis of the VI convocation and hold early parliamentary elections. According to the head of state's order, the elections will be held on September 1, 2024.
