Chilean MP: Azerbaijan's experience important for Pacific Alliance states

Azerbaijan's experience in the field of energy and infrastructure is vital for the countries of Latin America and the Pacific Alliance, Tomas de Rementeria, a member of the Chilean parliament, told Report.

According to him, there are common areas for cooperation between the parliaments of Chile and Azerbaijan, and the MPs will work in this direction: "We can build relationships allowing us to cooperate in areas such as economy, education, technologies, culture, and politics."

Speaking about cooperation within the framework of the Pacific Alliance, the MP said that Chile is interested in developing economic cooperation with Azerbaijan within the framework of this trade bloc:

"Azerbaijan is an important partner for us and is a country with a critical geostrategic position between the Middle East and Central Asia. Its experience in the field of energy and infrastructure is essential for Latin America, especially the countries of the Pacific Alliance."

On June 30 of this year, a delegation of Chilean parliamentarians visited Baku to participate in the Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network under the motto "Boosting the role of national parliaments in promoting global peace and sustainable development".

The delegation included deputies of the Chilean parliament Sofia Cid Versalovic and Thomas de Rementeria, as well as Chargé d'Affaires of Chile in Azerbaijan Fidel Coloma.

The Pacific Alliance, a trade bloc, includes four Latin American countries - Mexico, Peru, Chile, and Colombia. Azerbaijan is represented in the organization as an observer.

In December last year, the office of the Pacific Ocean Alliance was opened in Baku.
