Today's talks were very productive and became a good preparation for the upcoming July 21 meeting in Brussels, President of the European Council Charles Michel said following a meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz and President of France Emmanuel Macron, Report informs.
According to Charles Michel, the parties are intensively working on the normalization of relations and plan to repeat the meeting in this format in Spain:
“We had the opportunity to discuss all the issues that were previously raised at the meeting in Brussels in May. We managed to discuss the delimitation of the border and the preparation of a peace agreement. This was an excellent preparation for the scheduled meeting in Brussels on July 21.”
He noted that the European Council aims to continue supporting the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia:
“During the meeting, the intention to meet again in a five-sided format on the sidelines of the third summit of the European Political Community in Spain was also declared.”
Charles Michel stressed that the European Council will make every possible effort to provide support for achieving greater progress in normalizing relations between the two countries.
