Central Asian presidents eye signing treaty on friendship, good-neighborliness, cooperation

The leaders of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan have instructed the foreign ministers to prepare for signing a Treaty on Friendship, Good-Neighborliness and Cooperation for the Development of Central Asia in the 21st Century at the next Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the Central Asian region, Report informs.

The foreign ministries were also entrusted with preparing proposals on the timing and venue of the fourth Consultative Meeting and developing topical issues on its agenda.

These provisions are enshrined in separate paragraphs of the Joint Statement following the consultative meeting of the region's heads of state, held in Avaza city.
