Çavuşoğlu: Turkey and France can support peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia

"Turkey and France can jointly support a lasting peace in the South Caucasus that will ensure the well-being of Azerbaijan and Armenia," said the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in an article published in the French newspaper L'Opinion, Report informs.

"The use and distortion of history for political purposes have never helped resolve the conflict and restore justice. If the Turkish-French relations are hindered by Armenia's unfounded claims, Turkey and France can better contribute to the stability of the South Caucasus through joint efforts.

"We must not forget that Turkey is not a rival in the Balkans, but plays a complementary role in the stability and prosperity of the region, the European Union, and the implementation of transatlantic policy," he said.
