British Representative commends Azerbaijan’s efforts to counter Islamophobia plague

Wagaruzzaman Azmi, Chairman of the Srebrenica Commemoration Organization in Great Britain and CEO of Badger Health Group, has acknowledged Azerbaijan’s significant strides in combating Islamophobia plague, Report informs.

He made the remark at the international conference themed “Embracing Diversity: Tackling Islamophobia in 2024” held in Baku, specifically at the plenary session titled “Multiculturalism, Islam and the Clash of Civilizations Theory: Rethinking Islamophobia”.

Azmi stressed the critical nature of Azerbaijan’s leadership in addressing and leading the charge against this harmful ideology. He praised the country for its proactive measures, stating, “Azerbaijan is addressing the challenge of Islamophobia effectively. I commend Azerbaijan for its initiatives.”

Furthermore, Azmi expressed concern over the dehumanization of Muslims in certain regions, highlighting the gravity of the issue. He remarked, “Historically, Islamophobia has been institutionalized by states, with attempts to distort history and propagate a violent ideology. This issue transcends academic discourse and requires us to confront its profound underlying causes.”
