Russia plans to continue to develop cooperation with Azerbaijan this year, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov told a press conference, as quoted by Report.
"Russia plans to develop political contacts, intensify its work within the framework of the intergovernmental commission," the ambassador said, reminding that next year Azerbaijan and Russia will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The year 2022 will also mark the 20th jubilee session of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan, during which the sides will discuss various issues of the development of cooperation.
"I am sure that there will be the meetings on the high level too," the ambassador said, adding that various agreements and documents may also be signed.
Works to normalize the situation in the region will also continue. "The plans for 2022 are very extensive," Bocharnikov said.
