Sustainable development is impossible without the balanced development of all territories, citizen participation in governance, and increased environmental awareness, Blanca Judith Mujica Acuna, lawyer and global peace ambassador, Regional Director of the Institute of Public Policy and Diplomacy (IPPDR, Peru), said at the General Assembly of the Global South NGO Platform in Baku, Report informs.
Acuna emphasized that development should encompass not only large cities but also remote and marginalized regions.
"Communities must not simply be recipients of public policy, but also participate in its formation," she emphasized.
Judith also emphasized the importance of education and environmental awareness in building a sustainable future.
"No urban model can be truly sustainable without an informed and engaged society," the global peace ambassador said.
She added that Baku Urban Week is a reminder that cities are built not only through infrastructure, but also through inclusive solutions and a long-term vision for the future.
