Belhand: African continent distinguished by its dynamic development of civil society

The African continent is showing a rapid growth in the number of non-governmental organizations, President of the Association of Natural Science Teachers of Morocco Boujemaa Belhand said at a panel discussion within the founding conference of the NGO Platform of the Global South in Baku, Report informs.

He noted that the continent is characterized by the dynamic development of civil society and its active participation in the life of countries.

"We have many untapped opportunities, and more and more specialists, including doctors, are seeking to unite around areas such as education, environmental protection, ensuring equality and capacity development. Our goal is to be involved in all these areas. NGOs, working closely with society and better understanding local needs, find the most creative and innovative ways to solve existing problems,” Belhand emphasized.
