Bayramov: Regional activities, dialogue more important amid dangerous agendas of foreign forces

Regional activity and dialogue are even more important against the backdrop of foreign forces increasing their attempts to project geopolitical escalation and divisive lines onto the region, including engaging in controversial militarization with their dangerous agendas, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at the meeting of the 3+3 regional consultative format held in Istanbul, Report informs.

He emphasized the importance for regional states to act in the region based on the principles of international law, especially sovereignty, territorial integrity, inviolability of borders, and non-interference in internal affairs, seek solutions to the regional problems within the regional framework, and accept regional security as an indivisible concept in the current circumstances.

It was also noted that since the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence, the country has cooperated with regional states on the basis of mutual respect, balance of interests, and legitimate security concerns, resulting in the implementation of several regional and globally significant projects such as Baku-Tbilisi-Kars and the North-South corridor.

Hope expressed for the joint projects to include the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, especially the swift completion of communications connecting Azerbaijan's East Zangazur economic region with Nakhchivan through Iranian territory.
