Bayramov: OSCE should build its activities in line with today's realities

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid, who is visiting Azerbaijan, have discussed issues of regional and international security and opportunities for regional cooperation, Report informs referring to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The meeting emphasized the importance of effectively using existing opportunities to resolve regional issues within the OSCE on the basis of international law against the backdrop of the current regional and international security situation.

In this regard, the importance was noted for the organization to structure its activities in accordance with the realities of today. It was noted that Azerbaijan is one of the most active OSCE members in a number of areas.

During the meeting, it was said that Azerbaijan's chairmanship at the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) might help strengthen the direction of climate action on the cooperation agenda.
