Bayramov: Institutions with expired mandate like OSCE Minsk Group are operating archaically

The OSCE's work to resolve the conflict for 30 years has not yielded any results, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a joint press conference with the current OSCE Chairman, Minister of Foreign, European Affairs and Trade of Malta Ian Borg.

At the same time, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan and the OSCE at the post-conflict stage can expand other areas within the framework of cooperation programs according to the needs of Azerbaijan in such issues as the restoration of the Karabakh region, as well as demining of liberated territories.

The minister noted that the mandate of these institutions has expired and they are operating archaically.

"There is no need to finance these archaic institutions that use old expressions from the limited budget of the OSCE. OSCE can support other projects. OSCE can support projects such as mine safety, return of former displaced persons to their homes, elimination of damage to the environment," Bayramov said.
