Azerbaijan views emerging tendencies in Armenian society aimed at challenging the new political realities in the region as unacceptable, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said in an interview with the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung, Report informs.
Hajiyev noted that there are ongoing efforts in Armenia to question the current status quo:
“We must pay close attention to the signs of a new wave of revanchism in Armenian society. Attempts are already being made to challenge the status quo and the new realities. There are clear indications of ideological indoctrination of Armenian youth in the spirit of confrontation and renewed conflict. This is absolutely unacceptable,” he said.
Hajiyev added that the Armenian government should focus more on its internal affairs. “I believe that constitutional amendments in Armenia would be an important step toward ending this,” the presidential aide noted.
