Baku hosts meeting of Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan Joint Working Group on Caspian Sea

The next meeting of the Joint Working Group on the division of the Caspian Sea bed between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan was held in Baku, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The delegation of Azerbaijan was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, the special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for border and the Caspian Sea issues Khalaf Khalafov and the delegation of Turkmenistan was led by the director of the Caspian Sea Institute, the special representative of Turkmenistan on Caspian Sea issues Myrat Atajanov.

Representatives of relevant ministries and institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the provisions of the draft Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan on the division of the Caspian Sea bed between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan were discussed.

The parties agreed to continue the process of negotiations.
