Azerbaijani student missing in Kahramanmaras rescued from rubble

The Azerbaijani student who went missing as a result of the powerful earthquake that rocked Turkiye the day before has been found in Kahramanmaras, Hamran Amirli, an Azerbaijani lecturer at the Sutcu IImam University, told Report's Ankara bureau.

University student Goycha Bakhshaliyeva was rescued from the rubble of the destructed building and rushed to hospital.

"She sustained injuries but her overall condition is not grave. After examination, we will get the precise information about her condition from doctors," Hamran Amirli said.

Hamran Amirli said that the Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkiye keeps the student's condition in the spotlight:

“Her parents are also informed.”

An Azerbaijani student studying in Kahramanmaras is missing in the aftermath of the earthquake in Turkiye, Hamran Amirli, an Azerbaijani lecturer at the Sutcu Imam University, told Report's Ankara bureau.

According to him, the student remains unaccounted for and the building where he lived is completely destroyed.

Amirli also said that today Azerbaijani citizens in Kahramanmaras will be evacuated to their homeland: "The evacuation will be carried out at 15:00 local time from the Kahramanmaras bus station with the support of the Azerbaijani embassy in Turkiye."

Report has learned from the Turkish embassy in Azerbaijan that there is no information about Azerbaijani citizens killed or injured as a result of the earthquake. Preparations are underway for the evacuation of Azerbaijani students and other Azerbaijanis from Kahramanmaras to Azerbaijan.
