Azerbaijani schoolchildren and students attend UN Conference at UNESCO Headquarters

During COP29 in Baku, schoolchildren and students from Azerbaijan participated in the Change the World Model United Nations (CWMUN) conference - another UN platform.

According to Report, the event, held from November 21-23 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, gathered more than 500 people from over 40 countries worldwide.

30 representatives of Azerbaijani youth, sent to Paris through Shane Academy, which represents the Change the World project in Azerbaijan, participated in discussions of global issues covering topics such as international cooperation, education, science, culture, and communications.

The Change the World Model United Nations organizers recognized Azerbaijani representatives Nazrin Huseynli and Ayse Nesli Gulenci as Best Delegation for the first time, while Jamal Efendi, Ayan Valizada, Lala Musayeva, Sabir Narimanov, Aydan Jabrayilova, and Ruhangiz Asgarova received Honorable Mentions.

The event's goal, under the motto "Change the World," is to involve youth in international political processes and train them in global diplomacy skills.

Azerbaijani students gained the opportunity to better understand decision-making principles, diplomatic negotiations, international cooperation, and global politics.

During the trip, Azerbaijani youth also visited historical and cultural landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, and Disneyland.

Model United Nations (MUN) is an international platform where students participate in UN simulations and develop their diplomatic skills to address global issues. MUN events develop youth leadership, negotiation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, while raising their awareness of global issues.
