Azerbaijani rescuers set up tent camp for earthquake victims in Kahramanmaras

Azerbaijani rescuers set up 760 tents for earthquake victims in Kahramanmaras, Türkiye, Report informs.

Azerbaijani volunteers cook and distribute food in mobile ovens in the tent camp built on the territory of Kahramanmaras Sutcu Imam University.

Colonel Khaliq Huseynov of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan said that according to the order of President Ilham Aliyev, a search and rescue team of 760 people arrived in Türkiye immediately after the earthquake and started operations.

The colonel added they would stay in Türkiye until the situation normalizes.

Huseynov also spoke about the works carried out in the earthquake zone:

"Currently, the search and rescue team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, consisting of 760 people, is working in Kahramanmaras. So far, 760 tents have been set up. We also provide food for the victims placed in tents. Each tent is for six people and is equipped with a wood stove as well as electricity. We have provided the tents with beds and all other equipment. Türkiye is our brother country, so we do our best to heal the wounds of our brothers. This is not only the problem of Türkiye but also of Azerbaijan."
