Azerbaijani prosecutor general, Interpol president mull bilateral cooperation

Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev met with a delegation headed by Interpol President Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi in Baku, Report informs, citing Aliyev’s office.

At the meeting in the Prosecutor General's Office, Kamran Aliyev emphasized the need to further develop mutually beneficial ties between Azerbaijan's law enforcement agencies and Interpol, which is one of the largest international organizations playing an important role in the administration of justice.

The parties discussed the successful completion of the high-level session "Mobilizing Law Enforcement in the Fight Against Climate Change," organized by the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, and the UAE Ministry of Interior on the sidelines of COP29 held in Baku. The importance of law enforcement cooperation in environmental protection was emphasized.

Interpol President Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi positively assessed the reforms in Azerbaijan's prosecution bodies and spoke about the prospects for developing mutually beneficial ties between his organization and Azerbaijan's law enforcement agencies.

The meeting also discussed issues of expanding bilateral relations and increasing the effectiveness of measures to detain persons on international wanted lists.
