On April 11, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov met with Director General of Statistics Finland Markus Sovala, and Director General of Statistics Lithuania Jūratė Petrauskienė.
As Report informs, citing the Cabinet of Ministers, the meeting noted that reforms in the field of statistics are being carried out in Azerbaijan, comprehensive measures are being taken to improve the national statistics system in accordance with the current socio-economic processes and modern challenges in the country and in the international arena.
The importance of the conference dedicated to the results of the twinning project “Support to the State Committee on Statistics and the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy in order to strengthen the collection, processing, analysis and publication of data in the field of business statistics” was emphasized.
As part of the project, discussions were held on improving various areas of business statistics in Azerbaijan, including increasing the capacity of local specialists working with statistical data on small and medium-sized businesses.
