Azerbaijani Ombudsman appeals to world community regarding Armenian provocations

Azerbaijan's Ombudsperson Sabina Aliyeva has released a statement on yet another provocation by Armenian armed forces on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border.

Report informs that the statement reads:

"It is with the feeling of regret that we note that Armenians continue their systematic military provocations in the vicinity of the state border and our de-occupied lands.

"So, at 09.30 on August 16, the units of Armenian armed forces located in the Arazdeyen settlement of Vedi started shelling the Azerbaijani army positions in the direction of the Heydarabad settlement of the Sadarak region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic using machine and submachine guns.

"We strongly condemn such provocative actions that run contrary to the norms and principles of international law, the provisions of the tripartite agreement dated November 10, 2020, and are aimed at violating fundamental human rights, while undermining peace, and we call on the world community, the respective international organizations to take determined measures to prevent Armenia from such steps."

Notably, earlier, the Ombudsman's Office released a statement on the provocations of the Armenian armed forces on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border.
