Azerbaijani MP suggests suspending diplomatic relations with France

During the session of Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan, the chairman of the Motherland Party, MP Fazail Aghamali proposed to suspend Azerbaijan's diplomatic relations with France, Report informs.

He said that France is revealing its hypocritical policy: "France, which once had colonies in Africa, especially in Algeria, killed 1.5 million people, but did not fire a single shot during World War II, now reveals its true face against Azerbaijan."

The chairman of the party said French President Emmanuel Macron recently said fascist Armenia is democratic state . As a continuation of this policy, the French Senate adopted the following resolution:

"The resolution pays special attention to the export of Azerbaijani oil and gas to Europe, thereby trying to create a problem in the European Union.

"At that time, the representatives of the European Union came to Azerbaijan and met with Mr. President Ilham Aliyev, showed particular interest in the oil and gas of our country, and even reached a relevant agreement. By demanding independence for 20-30 thousand Armenians, France indulges in absurdity and is not ashamed of it. It also wants Azerbaijan to leave the Lachin corridor.

"France, which has stood by Armenia for the past 30 years, has gone further during the Macron era. Today, Macron is influencing the European Union and UNESCO. It is no coincidence that Mehriban Aliyeva recently refused the goodwill ambassador position of UNESCO. This is a blow to France, UNESCO, and Macron. But will they draw any conclusions? I am not sure. Because they have chosen the path of supporting fascist Armenia from beginning to end. I propose that diplomatic relations with France be suspended."
