Azerbaijani MFA: Some survivors of plane crash are in critical condition

The causes of the Embraer 190 aircraft crash, operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) on flight J2-8243 from Baku to Grozny, near the city of Aktau, are under investigation, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

The Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Aktau has been actively involved at the crash site since the incident occurred. "Urgent operational measures are being coordinated with Kazakh emergency rescue agencies," the ministry noted.

“There were 67 individuals on board, consisting of 62 passengers and 5 crew members. Preliminary information indicates that 32 people have survived, with some in serious condition. Following the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, a state commission, chaired by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, has been formed to investigate the causes of the plane crash."

Additionally, a delegation led by the Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, Kamaladdin Heydarov, and the Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, has traveled to Kazakhstan to address the tragic event.
