Azerbaijani MFA, German Federal Foreign Office hold political consultations

The next political consultations were held between the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the German Federal Foreign Office, Azerbaijani MFA told Report.

The delegations were led by Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov and Deputy Head of Division Bilateral Relations with the States of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe as well as Central Asia and Southern Caucasus of the German Federal Chancellery Matthias Lüttenberg.

The sides analyzed the current state of relations between the two countries and exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation. It was noted that there are wide potential opportunities for bilateral economic ties.

The officials also mulled relations in the fields of culture, science, and education and praised the activities of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Goethe Center in Baku.

Khalafov gave detailed information about the situation after the 44-day war and the signing of trilateral declarations, the scale of the destruction in the liberated territories, and the restoration and reconstruction work carried out.

Lüttenberg expressed satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan. He said his country was interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan in various fields.

They also discussed issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany within international organizations.
