Azerbaijani MFA calls on international organizations to properly assess Armenia's violence against prisoners

International organizations should pay due attention to the violence demonstrated by Armenia against the prisoners, Report informs, citing the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

The said violence demonstrated by Armenia against prisoners is a gross violation by Armenia of the 1949 Geneva Conventions, the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (CERD), and other international obligations arising from international humanitarian and human rights law. Relevant international organizations should investigate and give a proper assessment of this violence, including the facts of violence by Armenia against Azerbaijani prisoners of war and civilian prisoners, as well as 3,890 missing Azerbaijanis, over the past 30 years.
