On April 7 and 8, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian had a telephone conversation, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The ministers expressed respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of both countries.
During the telephone conversation, a detailed discussion of the existing grievances and misunderstandings between the two countries took place. The importance of continuing negotiations to eliminate misunderstandings was emphasized.
They voiced an agreement on the implementation of existing projects between Azerbaijan and Iran.
Jeyhun Bayramov brought to the attention of the Iranian side the importance of respect for the independent foreign policy of Azerbaijan, based on its national interests and bilateral relations with the countries of the region.
The ministers also stressed the importance of continuing mutual contact.
