Azerbaijani, German FMs discuss post-conflict situation in South Caucasus

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Annalena Baerbock, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, as part of his business trip to Germany, Report informs, citing Azerbaijani MFA.

During the meeting, the ministers noted that they attach great importance to Azerbaijan-Germany relations and are interested in further expansion of cooperation.

Azerbaijani side emphasized that there are additional opportunities for cooperation with the German side within the framework of Azerbaijan's hosting of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) this year.

In this context, the importance of the joint successful organization of the Petersburg Dialogue, as well as the currently held Bonn Conference, was noted.

Bayramov talked about the situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, the process of normalization between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and drew attention to the existing problems and opportunities within the framework of the peace process.

The Azerbaijani side recalled the existing claim to the territories of Azerbaijan in the Constitution of Armenia is an obstacle to the peace agreement.

Other regional issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
