Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry replies to French envoy in Armenia: Apparently, he has different idea of dignity

It would be better if the French ambassador to Armenia, before giving comments on any issue, drew attention to how certain issues are being implemented in his country, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Leyla Abdullayeva said in response to the statement by Ambassador of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacote on the opening of the War Trophy Park in Azerbaijan, Report informs.

Expressing his opinion on the opening of the park, the ambassador said that “war is not a subject for staging a performance.”

“The ambassador of France, which throughout history has gone through numerous wars and demonstrated compositions, speaking in the language of the ambassador, “performances”, about wars in various museums, will tell us how to handle the trophies taken from the enemy?!” she said.

Abdullayeva added that the fact that the French ambassador noted that Armenia “preserves dignity in its defeat” is interesting.

“Perhaps, in the opinion of the French ambassador, the aggressive policy of Armenia, which continued for about 30 years, was an “occupation with dignity”? it A country that behaves decently will not keep part of the territory of a neighboring country under occupation for many years, grossly violate the rights of one million people, purposefully kill people, including civilians. A decent country, having agreed to an end to hostilities, will not send terrorist groups to the territory of another country and will not threaten the lives of people, hiding mine maps. Apparently, the French ambassador has a different idea of dignity. The official representative of the country, which has been acting as a mediator for many years, should be more responsible in his statements,” Abdullayeva added.
