Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, as part of his working visit to Saudi Arabia, made a speech at the joint summit of the League of Arab States (LAS) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
In his speech, Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that the continuation of tension in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict zone and, in particular, the fact that civilians are the most affected by the current escalation, are of serious concern. On behalf of Azerbaijan, the minister expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the conflict.
Noting that Azerbaijan joins calls for an immediate de-escalation of the situation and an immediate cessation of military operations, the minister pointed out the need to refrain from actions that could aggravate the current sensitive situation for the entire Middle East region, and the importance of mobilizing all the efforts of the international community.
The minister once again stressed that Azerbaijan supports a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict under international law and relevant United Nations (UN) resolutions based on the two-state principle.
